Ah Yip Herbal Soup is a Chinese restaurant that specialises in traditional Chinese herbal soups. The story goes that Mr Cheng Keng Yip (known to most of us as Ah Yip), intended to start his own business after having years of training in the art of Chinese medicine and liquor under the tutelage of his father, but he knew that the opportunity to so would be limited if he chose to stay in his hometown, as such he decided to venture to Kuala Lumpur. This resulted in the very first Ah Yip Herbal Soup outlet in City Square Complex, which opened in 1993. Since then, Ah Yip Herbal Soup has successfully expanded by opening outlets all over the country almost every year, including an outlet located in Plaza Sentosa in Johor Bahru.
As far as the soup variety is concerned, there's nothing to worry about as the selection is most definitely wide, with soups dedicated for specific purposes. Beyond the purposes of nourishment and revitalisation, there are soups that are great for body dryness, as well as tonic food for ladies and men. There are also lighter soups that aren't as reliant on herbs such as the salted vegetable stew duck soup, dried mussels radish soup, and a few others.
Ah Yip Herbal Soup fortunately doesn't just do herbal soup. Other dishes like porridge and noodles can also be enjoyed here. To wrap up the meal, you can have herbal dessert items such as gui ling gao, Chinese melon and longan soup, and white fungus and sea coconut soup to name a few. So head on down to Ah Yip Herbal Soup for your herbal soup fix.
