Edo Ichi Japanese Restaurant is a restaurant
located in the Island Plaza area in Penang. The restaurant happens to be under
the management of the well-known Azuma Japanese Restaurant in Queensbay Mall,
and has become a hot favourite amongst Penangites relatively quickly, to the
point that customers have to regularly wait for some time before being seated.
All of this leads to the area enjoying some of the large crowds it used to
attract before Gurney Drive took the culinary limelight in the state.
As far as the food is concerned,
Edo Ichi places a great deal of emphasis on serving authentic and quality
Japanese food, and the food served here covers all aspects of these boundaries.
Like most Japanese restaurants, its only natural to expect to find a myriad of
sushi and sashimi to choose from. In Edo Ichi, some of the selections include
salmon, tuna, white tuna, and many others. For those who can't stomach raw
food, some of the cooked items that can be enjoyed include unagi kabayaki,
scallop fried rice, gyoza, sukiyaki, teriyaki dishes like salmon belly
teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, as well as chicken katsu dishes such as chicken
katsu curry and taru taru chicken katsu. There are also a number of noodle
dishes to enjoy such as somen, ramen, udon, soba, and a few others.
To take it a step further, your
meals can also be enjoyed with appetisers that include miso soup and
chawanmushi to name a few. In short, Edo Ichi delivers on the promise of
authentic and quality Japanese food, and is not to be miss out.
