Eight Miles is a roadside stall in Hulu Kinta, Ipoh that is famous for their flooded burgers or ‘Burger Banjir’. Opened in 2014, this establishment hasn’t been around long but has managed to receive mass attention especially from Ipoh residents for serving something different than the usual.

The name Eight Miles came from the fact that the location of the shop is at Batu 8, which when translated more or less fits the name. Not exactly a stall, not exactly a restaurant, Eight Miles humbleness is shown their use of simple furniture and reusable items. The restaurant practices an open concept kitchen where the food is cooked for everyone to see. Focusing on the quality, quantity and price of the food, Eight Miles is fast becoming the go to places as seen in nights and weekend crowds.

Eight Miles menu comprises of burgers (of course) and a number of western selection. The patties for the burgers have a choice of six type of meats; beef, chicken, venison, rabbit, fish and egg. Each burger is served with a handful of fries that adds up to the already generous size of the burger. Being known as the ‘Eight Miles burger banjir’, you can guess what happens next. If you choose to ‘flood’ your burger, they will douse your order with mushroom and black pepper sauce that amps the taste even more. This will cause the burger bread to become soggy with time so skip this if you prefer your bread fluffy. This act of flooding can also be applied to a breadless menu, known as the Full Tank. A dish of two sausages, a patty, fries and egg, covered in gravy, this variation can also be combined with Chicken Chop and Lamb Chop. Other dishes include the normal Chicken Chop and Lamb Chop, Fish & Chip and the mocktail style drink, Bittersweet.
