Jaya Grocer is
more than your average grocery store or supermarket. Since its inception in
December 2007, Jaya Grocer has been known for stocking a wide range of quality
imported products ranging from fresh produce to canned goods under one roof.
But what makes
Jaya Grocer a unique grocery store unlike others in Malaysia is the combination
of grocery store and restaurant known as “grocerant”. To put it simply,
grocerant is actually a term where retail food items are sold and prepared fresh
in the same premise itself.
This
fascinating concept can be found at Jaya Grocer’s flagship store in Empire
Shopping Gallery in Subang Jaya, as well as other outlets such as The
Intermark, DPULZE Cyberjaya and Verve Mont Kiara. All you have to do is
purchase your favourite meats and/or seafood from the grocery store itself and
bring them over to the grocerant counter at Fresco. With a minimum surcharge,
the chefs will have them cooked and prepared the meal for you. Best of all, you
can specify the way you want your meal to be cooked. On top of that, you can
choose to add side dishes such as mixed salad and spaghetti. You can also top
up your meal with a drink of your choice such as fruit juice and soda.
Apart from
Fresco, Jaya Grocer offers Japanese cuisine including varieties of sushi and
sashimi placed at the takeaway counter in Hikari. Then there’s The Baker’s Son,
an in-house bakery café that offers a variety of freshly baked goods such as
sandwiches, assorted breads and pastries.
