Kedai Makanan Ah Loy is your average looking traditional Chinese restaurant but whips up good old local favourites for the past 15 years. Located around Taman Overseas Union that’s famed for its home-cooked food. Available for lunch and dinner, that’s practically opened the entire day and usually jam packed especially during peak hours at dinner time.
The restaurant depicts a typical Chinese restaurant with air condition so customers are able to enjoy their meals in a cool and comfortable area. However, during peak hours, you may not be able to find a place at times but worry not as there are additional tables and chairs set up outside the restaurants and even on the roads itself.
The restaurant features a selection of home cooked style dishes that’s been mastered and cooked till perfection. Their signature dish would be the Curry Laksa and Asam Laksa. If you’re going for the curry laksa add on some fried fish fillets as it gives an additional crispy crunch to your curry. The curry laksa consists of a generous amount of curry chicken, pork skin, clams, taufoo pok and bean sprouts. Other popular dishes like the curry seafood noodle, clay pot seafood noodle and XO Brandi chicken and their XO seafood lor mee. There are other simple dishes sold like the economy fried beehun, fried noodles, yam cake, fried dumplings, Yong Tau Foo and sweet dessert soups like the Mak Chuk available daily.
