Located in foodies’ popular area, Damansara, Kompassion is the new edition of Thai concept restaurants among the local folks. It offers a fusion of Northern Thai and Asian flavours, with sufficient amount of pork dishes as options. This restaurant has become the talk of the town since its first open due to its delightful non-halal Thai cuisine. Nikom Uatthong is the head chef of Kompassion who also used to be the food consultant and executive chef at My Elephant.
Interior wise, it is roomy and airy with the neat arrangement of tables and chairs in the dining area. Rustic concrete walls, beautiful lights hanging from the ceiling, steel zinc pieces, and vintage metal tin plates give out a very cosy and rustic vibe to the room.
Reservations are advisable if you are planning to dine in a large group since the place is usually crowded at night. Their one-page brown menu will create smiles on pork lovers’ faces as it has an extensive selection of authentic Thai delicacies like the Pork Leg Rice.
The pork leg is braised until beautifully tender and served along with two sauces and pickles on the side. Health conscious will love the brown rice served at Kompassion. The refillable healthy rice costs RM3.50 for individual servings.
To end your lovely dining experience, be sure to get the delightful Coconut Gelato. This refreshing dessert used coconut gelato instead of the usual shaved ice. It resembles the popular Tub Tim Krob dessert (Red Ruby) but this one is done with a twist. Jackfruit, Red Ruby and basil seeds are among the ingredients added in this mouth-watering sweet dessert. Though the pricing is a bit on the higher side, but with the good food served, it is totally worth it.
