Ming Ji is a Chinese restaurant in Taman Johor Jaya best known for its fried noodle dish. Run by
a husband and wife pair, the famous fried noodle recipe was first created by
the wife’s father. The husband took up the mantle as chef after receiving
training from both his own father and his father-in-law and have gathered
enough courage to open up their own restaurant. The couple now is continuing
the legacy left by their parents and along the way, introduce some new dishes
as well.
Their best selling item is the Dry Fried Mee Hoon, what is known as a simple dish, looked simple enough, but serves as a clear proof that looks can be deceiving. This highly recommended dish is popular due to its taste that is unlike any other fried vermicelli. Only available here in Johor Bahru, this San Lou Mee Hoon (three storey mee hoon) is cooked with fresh prawns, pork slices, pieces of fish cake, egg and vegetables. While the noodles are mighty, other dishes here doesn’t lose out in comparison. The Fried Chicken in Shrimp Sauce is another best seller, loved for its crispy chicken and the well combine taste with the shrimp sauce. The Signature Tofu is not called signature for nothing. Homemade fresh tofu cubed and stuffed with minced prawns, then fried until golden and crispy. Another signature dish is the Deep Fried Squid with Salted Egg Yolk, again, fried to its golden perfection.
The
menu here pretty much would disappoint in any way. The Curry Assam Fish Head
and Marmite Pork Ribs are also worth trying for a complete, memorable meal.
