Pisang Goreng Bijan Special Puchong

If you are ever within the suburban areas of Puchong, specifically along Persiaran Puchong Permai, do keep your eyes peeled for a particular 'pisang goreng' stall selling deep-fried banana fritters with a twist, a sesame twist. Located near the Taman Puchong Permai roundabout, Pisang Goreng Bijan Special brings about an interesting manner in which the local Malay delicacy is presented.

As opposed to the conventional banana fritters garnished with cheese or chocolate syrup, the one in Bijan Special opts for a more healthier approach to the not-so-healthy banana fritters. Not only are sesame seeds an excellent source of copper and a very good source of manganese, but they are also a good source of calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin B1, zinc, molybdenum, selenium, and dietary fiber.

Deep-fried in batter with the sesame seeds already incorporated, the banana fritters not only smells better -courtesy of the aromatic trait of sesame; but also tastes a whole lot better. It provides the fritters with an extra crunch to boot, while not entirely overpowering the taste of the fried bananas. And in terms of price, it's quite affordable considering the portion is rather decent.

And of course, if you're up for variety, the stall offers your selection of local Malay snacks such as 'keropok lekor', 'cempadak goreng' and the likes. Beverage wise, their 'ais jagung' is pretty much decent as a thirst-quencher, especially after you have had fried food and also in particular, due to the relatively hot weather in Selangor.
