Restoran Hong Cha Old Klang Road

Nestled in Overseas Union Garden, you might have come across this particular restaurant in your search for a bowl of good pork noodles but if this is your first time heading over to Restoran Hong Cha for a meal, you might be in for a pleasant surprise.

Despite specialising in dishing out good pork or seafood noodles that is more inclined toward Chinese culinary background, they offer a slight twist in terms of their menu by bringing Japanese dishes into the picture. Items such as Japanese tempura, sushi and maki are readily available for patron's enjoyment.

Moving back to their main dish -the bowl of pork noodles; the noodles (Kuey Teow, Bee Hoon, Yee Mee, to name a few) are available in soupy or dry variants. Either way, for both styles, you will be accommodated with a bowl of soupy goodness containing succulent pork slices, minced pork fillets and pork innards (liver and intestines), fragrant shrimps and fried pork lard along with crunchy cabbages.

As for their seafood noodles, the usual pork is replaced with a myriad of seafood ingredients (namely squid and prawn). However, you can still opt for the condiment of pork lard to accentuate the overall flavour as it is free-flow self-service. But if you are feeling a tad bit adventurous, Hong Cha's signature Hong Cha Kun Pork Mee allows you to have the best of both worlds, where they combine both pork and seafood together in one single bowl of noodle. Talk about hitting two birds with one stone.
