Open air seafood restaurants are always the
best place to go for dinner with family and friends. And if you are looking for
a great ‘zhu char’ (refers to eateries serving foods with outdoor sitting/no
air-conditioning) in Penang, you should probably visit Sunshine Bay Seafood
located just at the opposite of Harmony Residence Super Condominium nearby Jalan
Tanjung Bungah area. When it comes to its interior, it has just the typical seafood restaurant concept with outdoor style dining. However, there are a few tables
placed in the air-conditioned private room that can fit up to 12 people.
Like the usual seafood places, this one
also provides a variety of seafood galore such as prawns, crabs, squids, fish,
and mussels that can be prepared in numerous ways. For starter, try the Kung
Pow Mantis Prawns (RM10). The delightful dish is a mixture of deep-fried
mantis prawns which were then stir-fried with a splash of Lea Perrins sauce along
with dried chillies, spring onions, and onions. Next, you can have the recommended
dish by this restaurant – the Homemade Signature Bean curd (RM10). The fresh
and smooth bean curd cooked with a light soup served alongside some finely
minced chicken meat and spring onions sprinkled on top of the dish.
Last but not least, finish your dinner with the Steamed Fish with Sour Lime Sauce (RM36). The highlight of the dish is probably the sour and spicy flavour of the sauce that will definitely increase your appetite. This cuisine definitely stole the spotlight due to the great blend of finely grounded garlic and pounded chili together with the bitter and sour lime juice. The delicious and alluring savour of the sauce, along with the freshness steamed fish flesh is the impressive finish to the whole meal.
