“The Royal Post” – Just by the name of it,
you would have thought that it is a post service truck sending mails to your
doorstep. Well, your guess is definitely incorrect. The Royal Post is actually
a food truck! Three good friends who love coffee decided to run the first
mobile espresso bar in town after realizing that there are no coffee trucks
around KL during the time. After a good research here and there, the café and
the Royal Post is opened to its customers offering good quality coffee, flavourful
sandwiches, and delightful pastries. You simply can’t miss this truck. It is
painted with black, white, and red and some rhomboids and thin trapeziums designs
all over – a mobile that you can spot from miles away.
Sam Lai, the founder of this food truck,
was a former stockbroker and barista at a popular café, Artisan Roast. His love
in making great coffee started when he studied in Brisbane and became a
part-time barista for three years. He wanted to serves a rich and delicious cup
of coffee that is at a reasonable price and delivered to the people, hence
‘Post’. On the menu, Latte Queen and Flat White King steal the show. The
regulars love their coffee so much until they grab two to four lattes a day. If
you want a grab a quick munchie, try the sandwiches. It is filled with fresh lettuce,
fresh tomatoes, cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard and a few slices of chicken
ham. The generous amount of ingredients makes the price totally worth it.
The Royal Post can be in various locations. However, they are usually around KL and Damansara area. But hey, what’s the fun in knowing the exact spot? It’s up to you to wonder around and chase it!
