Warung Nasi Lemak Pak Ayob has been in the business for quite some time but only recently that they have managed to expand into a fully functioning restaurant. Before such dreams were a reality, Pak Ayob’s Nasi Lemak is sold at various stalls by the roadside or renting out a stall in bigger established restaurants. Now with their own space, that opens all day and night, anyone can enjoy a plate of scrumptious Nasi Lemak at an affordable cost.
Having an open air concept befitting the
name of a ‘warung’, the shop is all about casual easiness of local fares enjoyed
by local people and the non-locals that are adventurous enough for this sort of
thing. Even though operating for 24 hours, certain times can be quite packed
especially during weekend mornings. When something is this good, it’s only
natural to have to line up to wait for your turn, or you could always pay them
a visit when it’s less crowded.
It
doesn’t take much to make Nasi Lemak better than it already is (doesn’t take
much to ruin it either) and Pak Ayob has clearly found the winning recipe that
keep people coming back. With the prefect consistency in their rice, and the
more sweet and not so spicy sambal, a normal plate of Nasi Lemak would have
satisfy you but when the side dishes are many and good, it can be hard to say
no. The most sought after side would probably be the Fried Chicken though it’s
hard to say when the competition is Squid, Cockles, Prawns, and other Chicken
dishes. Warung Pak Ayob also sells Nasi Campur,
Roti Canai, and Stir-fry for lunch and dinner.
