The coffee culture was brought over to this country at
one point and recently has been enjoying the increased success of the bittersweet
delight. There are a number of coffee shops around; popular chain ones like
Starbucks and Coffee Bean, the youthful and trendy hipster joints, or those
run-downs that serves the best of local brews. For a chain establishment, the
bigger they get, the harder it is to maintain the same quality every time at
each of their branch. That is not the case for Doi Chaang Coffee, however.
Originated from Thailand, it has grown to multiple branches in its own country,
parts of the world, and brought here to Malaysia. What started with only one
branch in Jaya One, has multiplied across Selangor, Melaka, Perak and Johor,
and it’s not showing any sign of stopping.
The
pride of Doi Chaang comes from its beans. Grown organically, Doi Chaang coffee
beans is a single-estate, 100% Arabica, USDA Certified Organic, Fair Trade
Certified, shade grown coffee. The beans are grown in Thailand; handpicked,
freshwater washed and sun dried, each bean is then hand sorted and freshly
roasted in order to produce the quality beans that deserve the worldly awards
it has gotten. The packaged beans are available in the premium departmental
store, Harrods, and are the only other brand beside Italian’s Illy to be sold
there. All this recognition and quality doesn’t come cheap but the price
carries more than just a fragrant cup of coffee; it also carries the effort and
quality that Doi Chaang is so proud of. Best enjoyed iced, it benefits those caffeine-dependent
individuals that worry about too much caffeine in their daily intake as Doi
Chaang’s proves to be one of the cleanest coffee with a caffeine level of
1.02%.
