Kluang Station is multi franchise brand that steadily
inclines year after year. Majority of the branches are scattered around Klang
Valley, with a few exceptions, and the branch in One Utama is one of the more
famous ones.
As a restaurant that sells local dishes but in an
upgraded setting that exudes exclusivity but still maintaining traditional
traits, Kluang Station is the chosen dining place for a local meal in comfort.
When talking about the topic of Hainanese dishes, one
can never leave out the coffee. Hainanese coffee is a popular choice in Chinese
influenced cafés and comes in multiple variations like Kopi ‘O or Cham. Have that with one of their toasts and half boiled egg and you get yourself the ultimate meal to kick start the day.
The
dish that is the centre point of Kluang Station is the Hainanese Chicken Chop.
While there are many other cafés that served this very famous Hainanese dish,
Kluang Station’s delivers theirs authentic and tasty. Unlike the western
chicken chop, this version is similar in terms of a deep fried breaded flatten
piece of chicken but that is where the similarity stops. The chicken would be
doused over with sweet tomato sauce usually with green peas thrown in for good
measure. The addition of baked beans and a side of fries made this already
amazing dish a lot better. Kluang Station also offers their take on the
local Ayam Masak Merah, Nasi Lemak, with optional addition of side dishes such as
fried chicken.
The
service definitely has room for improvement but either way Kluang Station is
one of the best places to get and be local in an upscale setting without having
to pay too much.
