Like most Korean restaurants, kimchi is what
draws people to. Kimchi is a staple food for Koreans – along with rice served since
a very long time ago. It is made along with close family members as they chat
away while spending the amount of time making those – so companion also
important when it comes to dining in Korea. So much so that it is even
considered a negative thing for one to dine alone – in other words, do bring
along close friends and family members when dining at any Korean restaurant,
after all, the more the merrier.
Uncle Jang, like many, started off with just one
restaurant and soon after expanded to other locations. This one particularly,
is situated in Kuala Lumpur, or more specifically, Mont Kiara, this one is what
one would call above the rest, well, quite literally actually, as it is located
on the third floor of the building. This gives an added bonus for the lucky
diners who comes in time to pick a window seat for a not perfect, but an unobstructed
view of the surroundings.
Dining here gives people the feel of cosiness by
sitting above the hustle and bustle of the streets below. In terms of service,
the restaurant provides acceptable service all manned by the friendly and
willing staff. While here, do give their “Don Kat su” pork cutlet. It is, well,
pork, deep fried and served with fresh salad, fruits, French fries and of
course, rice, along with sweet sauce. Also, the “Samgye-Tang” or Korean ginseng
chicken soup is one to try if you are stressed out, as it is claimed to relieve
stress.
