Kampung Senibong - a seafood haven situated right by the sea
boasting a long row of village-like seafood restaurants located adjacent to the
sea, with all of them having a display of the catch of the day consisting a
wide range of various aquatic creatures, and of course serving them. Most, if
not, all of them are Halal, and specialise in Malay and Thai style seafood
preparations; a welcome change from the usual Chinese seafood dishes found in
the country. One of the more notable restaurants here is 6 Corner Senibong
Seafood Restaurant, which opened in 2003 and shows no signs of slowing down.
Some of the memorable seafood dishes that can be had here
include boiled cockles, grilled fish, ikan masak 3 rasa, butter prawns, deep
fried squid, black pepper crabs, deep fried whole prawns with chilli dipping
sauce, mussels cooked in a sweet and spicy sauce, deep fried fish cooked with
Thai chilli sauce and pineapples, lobster in steamed egg sauce, tom yam, and a
whole lot more. To break up the seafood monotony and provide an alternative,
there are also non seafood items to be had like omelette, stir fried
vegetables, and a few others.
To wash all this great food down, there are a few drinks
that can be enjoyed such as Chinese tea, as well as coconut water, especially
since its so easily available being so close to the beach. So if you’re looking
for some great Halal seafood in Johor, 6 Corner Senibong Seafood Restaurant is
definitely the place to go.
