While its name might have you believe it's a kopitiam, Kedai Kopi PKH is definitely more of a hawker stall outlet than it is a kopitiam. With the restaurant having more stall outlets than other kopitiams out there, as well as the obvious lack of the iconic marble tables and chairs usually seen at a kopitiam, this comes as no surprise. That said, the restaurant still has the other hallmarks of other kopitiams out there, with dishes like the kaya toast bread with half boiled eggs, as well as a cup of local coffee.
Beyond that, there are a number of noteworthy stalls to be found at Kedai Kopi PKH, which all sell a variety of well known dishes like Old Pasar Beef Noodles, chee cheong fun, thosai, and much more. However, the obvious standout stall here has to be the one that's selling fish ball noodles. The fish balls themselves are entirely homemade and contain no fillers and additives. The fish balls come in a clear soup together with a few pieces of bean curd stuffed with fish paste. To go along with this, you have a choice of noodles that are then tossed in fragrant onion oil and a special blended thick dark sauce, which is quite different from the other bowls of fish ball noodles that have the noodles and soup served in the same bowl without any sauce used. To add more spice to the dish, a side serving of chilli sauce is also available, which will work great when dipping the fish balls and stuffed beancurd in it.
While there are many options out there for fish ball noodles in Johor, the one served at Kedai Kopi KPH is certainly worth trying out.
