Goh Zha Lang Restoran Taiwan is a Chinese/Taiwanese
restaurant located in the state of Johor. The restaurant is a highly familiar name
in the Southern Johor region, with outlets located in the Taman Sentosa, Taman
Abad, and Taman Sutera Utama areas respectively. The restaurant proudly specialises
in porridge, as seen by the large Chinese character on the signboard that
translates to porridge. Similar to Teo Chew porridge restaurants, there are a
number of sides to be had with your bowl of congee.
Before beginning the meal, a plate of braised peanuts is
served as an appetiser. Speaking of the porridge here, it can be had plain or
with sweet potatoes. Regardless, the porridge here is bottomless, so it can be
refilled a number of times over. This comes in handy for the big eaters out
there. As far as the side dishes served here, there is a wide variety to choose
from, be it fried beansprouts with salted fish, prawn omelette, hotplate tofu,
sliced fish with ginger and spring onions, steamed minced pork with salted egg
yolk, Szechuan vegetable soup, fried sweet potato leaf with sambal, fried pork
intestine with pineapple, fried prawns with dried chillies, and a whole lot
more.
To pleasantly wrap up the meal, Goh Zha Lang Restoran Taiwan
has a decent selection of tong sui that they’re known for such as the green
bean soup, red bean with glutinous rice, and a number of others. In short, Goh
Zha Lang Restoran Taiwan has been at the forefront of porridge and other
Chinese/Taiwanese dishes for a long time, so it is definitely worth trying out.
