This coffee shop has been in operation since 1946, and is now owned by David Chiang, who has been working at here since he was only 15 years old. Mainly serving both both Chinese and Western cuisine, Hua Mui has been a popular destination for locals and Singaporeans to enjoy good food and coffee. This is seen by the fact that of the two floors this restaurant has, the ground floor is always packed with customers.
As far as the food is concerned, Hua Mui prides itself on having the original Hainanese chicken chop recipe. On top of that, customers can enjoy Western favourites like fish & chips as well as mutton and lamb chops. For Asian and local dishes, customers can expect items like fried rice, chicken rice, fried noodles, ginger & spring onion chicken, sweet & sour chicken, and much more.
At Hua Mui, customers can also indulge in the favourite Malaysian pastime of a simple kopitiam breakfast, which typically has eggs, bread and coffee. These can be had in different variations, be it scrambled eggs on toast, french toast, kaya toast, or any other combination. Customers can also enjoy other drinks besides coffee and tea such as ice lemon tea, lemon barley, rose syrup, and much more.
