Situated in the heart of Kuala
Lumpur city in Jalan Ampang, a few kilometres away from the Twin Towers of
Kuala Lumpur (KLCC) is Restaurant Wadi Hadramawt, a restaurant that specialises
in Yemeni and Arabic cuisine. The restaurant opened up on New Year’s Day of
2010 by a Yemeni owner who aimed to create a cozy environment that was well
suited to have great conversations, as well as dig into some quality Yemeni and
Arabic cooked meals and a number of spirit selections.
Over the months and years, the
menu at Restaurant Wadi Hadramawt has changed to reflect today’s consumer. From
a few Yemeni meals to our current menu of over 50 items including their hand
dipped to order authentic Yemeni ingredients, as well as a great selection of
entrée salads and more than 20 vegetarian options. Some of these dishes include
Arabian breads like mullawah, soups like Morrocan Harira soup, appetisers like
babaganuj, Arabic salad, and hummus, as well as rice dishes (often reffered to
as nasi arab) such as lamb haneeth, chicken/lamb kabsa, lamb madghout, and
chicken/lamb mendy to name a few. There are also grilled and barbecued meats that
will work well with the aforementioned Arabian breads.
To end the meal in Yemeni
fashion, a few of the desserts that can be had include baqlawa, bosbosa, mohalabia
with fruit, and a number of others. In short, Wadi Hadramawt is a name you can
count on to deliver great Yemeni and Arabic food as they have done so for the
past few years.
