De Reve Cafe is an offshoot of the De Reve Saloon in Melaka. The cafe occupies an outer lot just outside of the saloon. Roughly seating 5 tables, this spot is still popular among the younger crowd who are looking for their tea break. The idea of a saloon cum cafe is a rarity in Malaysia, to the point that most Malaysians are surprised by the concept of this cafe. Nonetheless, the focus on serving good food and drinks is still a high priority for this cafe.
The selection of drinks available at De Reve Cafe is substantially vast. The categories of drinks include coffee & chocolates, ice blended, smoothies, esprit, organic tea and chilled drinks. With some of these categories having more than 10 items in them, and all of them having at least 3 items, there is more than enough choice for a beverage to have during your tea break.
Although the menu for food items is significantly smaller, there is still more than enough choice available for those who would to grab a bite to eat during their tea break. Some of the categories that are a part of this list are desserts, cookies, croissants & wholemeal toast, homemade pizzas, snacks and lasagna. Their dessert section is the longest with items such as yogurt cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, brownies with ice-cream and apple crumble with ice-cream to name a few.
So if you're ever near Jonker Street; or just want something to eat after a trip to the saloon, give De Reve Cafe a try. If anything, the rare concept alone should warrant more exploring on your part, thus another reason to check them out.
