Restoran Kampar Fish Jelly Georgetown

Kampar Fish Jelly is a Chinese restaurant in Sungai Nibong, Penang specializing in yong tau foo (as the “Fish Jelly” portion of their name would suggest). The restaurant normally will be crowded during lunch hours and long queues will be spotted next to the restaurant, which more often than not, are largely comprised of factory workers in the nearby areas. Fortunately, the place is air-conditioned, which is a saving grace for those who’ve been queuing in the hot and warm environment waiting for a place.

When dining at Kampar Fish Jelly, you will first need to place the orders at the noodle counter at the main entrance. Some of the yong tau foo selections available here include long beans, brinjal, okra, chilli, bitter gourd, and much more. The yong tau foo can be had plainly, or served in a bowl of soup. Customers can also enjoy other sides besides yong tau foo such as braised trotter with vinegar, pork intestines, chicken feet, and steam herbal chicken to name a few.

To go along with your portion of yong tau foo, there are many main dishes to be had. The highlight dish at Kampar Fish Jelly is most certainly the Hakka noodles with minced pork. This is no surprise considering this dish is not readily available in Penang. Other honourable mentions include yam rice, white rice, lou she fun, glass noodles, and much more.

So if you’re looking for a premier destination for all things yong tau foo, Kampar Fish Jelly is certainly the place to be.
