Steak Frites is nestled in a colonial-style building in Love Lane, Georgetown. It is attached to the 23 Love Lane Boutique Hotel and has the same owner. This restaurant is not only perfect for steal lovers, but also for those who often has trouble making up their mind regarding what to it as it only serves one item on the menu. You can choose to have their Glass-Fed Tenderloin Steak in 150 or 200 grams cooked to different degrees: rare, medium and cooked.
The interior of the restaurant is an absolute delight, with marble-top table and wooden furniture. With its soft lightning and antiques, this pre-war Chinese decoration is not something you would normally expect from a restaurant serving steak. Old black and white photographs along with floral plates ornament the wall. The staffs are friendly and polite, trying their best to make you feel at home.
Upon placing your order, you will be provided with a basket of French baguette and butter to curb your hunger. You are welcome to replenish it anytime. The bread is warm, soft and crisp. Then comes the romaine lettuce salad which is showered in almonds. It can be topped up as well. Drizzled with honey mustard dressing, olive oil and vinegar, it is definitely refreshing.
The steak itself is absolutely juicy, tender and chewy,
depending on the degree in which it is cooked. It is lightly marinated with
salt and goes well with the mustard and cafe de Paris butter sauce. The
delicious fragrance of meat and its texture will send you straight to heaven. A
generous amount of fries is served alongside the steak. Crunchy on the outside
and buttery soft on the inside, it really completes your meal.
A wide selection of drinks and wine are available to
accompany your steaks. You can sample their Wamssler Sparkling Mead, which is
served chilled and made with pure honey.
