Missing Marbles is a newer addition to the surging cafe scene that’s happening in Old Town Ipoh. It is the brainchild of Julie Song, whose team is also responsible for Indulgence Restaurant. An interesting thing to note is that the signboard from the previous owner (Syarikat Cermin Mata Star) is still there, making it a bit of a challenge to find Missing Marbles unless you’re a regular, or can spot their own smaller sign near the entrance of the cafe.
While the menu might be a little on the smaller side, customers can expect to enjoy Asian food with a contemporary twist, as well as some Western favourites at Missing Marbles. Some of the dishes served here include dry ramen with soy, Chap a lang, mee siam, mushu lamb, herb crusted chicken, and house smoked lamb slices to name a few. Of course, one of the highlights in this list is the Ramen Hakata, which has all the makings of a great bowl of ramen, with the exception of using lamb slices as opposed to the more commonly used pork slices.
Missing Marbles also delivers on desserts, with their specialty of lychee with custard and vanilla ice cream, which pleasantly wraps up the meal. As for drinks, customers can enjoy Funny Mountain soy bean milk and pineapple mint amongst a few other options to help wash down the rich food served here.
So if you’re looking for a great Ipoh cafe experience, head on down to Missing Marbles. The food and unique decor will certainly leave an impression on you.
