Situated right in front of Jalan Tun Razak, Born & Bread is very easily spotted. The owner decided to open up a café here because of the love for the neighbourhood and wanting to build up the surrounding area. Growing amongst old shops that have been around for decades, Born & Bread comes like a breath of fresh, modern air.
Their concept is quite simple; showcasing the gritty floors and walls with minimal furniture and decoration. There is a number of seatings inside but the party truly happens outdoors. Wooden tables and chairs are thoughtfully laid just outside on the café’s yard where curious youths can come by the numbers and experience a good time.
The menu here was all carefully thought of by the owner. Born & Bread is all about providing flavours that may taste familiar but is not really what they may seem. There are varieties to choose from; appetisers, sandwiches and mains. Celebrate friends and sharing with the Born & Bread’s take on Mexican nacho cheese treat with the Perfect Papadom & Spicy Salsa. Then go to the middle part of the world with the Austrian’s Schnitzelbrötchen, of either chicken or beef handmade patty marinated in the house special blend on a toasted schnitzel bun.
Continue the party with French Fries or the more modern Sweet Potato Fries, accompanied by their selection of coffee and speciality tea. Some other must-tries here are the Banh Mi sandwich, Born & Bread (Wings), and Born & Bread Fried Chicken.
The café gives off an old school hip hop feel that stems from the kind of music that sets the ambience there. More of a laid back hipster joint, with simple setting, simple and great food, and great service, it has all the criteria of the place ‘to be’.
