Fatty Bak Kut Teh & FIsh Head is a Chinese restaurant specialising in Bak Kut Teh and Fish Head dishes. This restaurant dates back to 2002 and has been a regular spot for folks to have their supper all these years; when it was just a small stall. Since then they have relocated to Taman Desa, then moved to a shoplot that's not very far off from their first location. These days, it's not uncommon to find customers spilling over to the streets to try out the food here. An interesting thing to note about Fatty Bak Kut Teh is the fact that its split up into different stalls. One stall takes care of the Bak Kut Teh, another deals with the stir-fry dishes, and the third one works on their famous Cantonese-style steamed fish head.
Like most Bak Kut Teh shops, your serving of this rich pot of herbal porcine stew can include a few items. Whether its pork ribs, pork intestines or enoki mushrooms; there are plenty to be had here as a fan of the dish. Fatty Bak Kut Teh also serves their signature "Sang Guat Bou", which requires customers to call in to place the order as it takes an additional hour on top of the required time to make a pot of Bak Kut Teh. There a few secret ingredients that are added during this time.
Another speciality of Fatty Bak Kut Teh that cannot be neglected is their fish head dishes. With three different preparations (namely steamed with ginger, soy sauce or cili padi), there's sufficient variety to be had in your plate of fish head. Also, do check out their wine braised chicken and wobbly bean curd for a complete satisfaction.
So if for some strange reason you haven't given this restaurant a try, now's a great time to do so.
