Imagine aplenty selections of Malaysian food together under one roof – and imagine every one of them is no less than a gem. That is exactly what Warong Aji Don Alley is offering to the locals with many food outlets to choose from and conveniently bequeathed under the same building. Founded by Uncle Don in Sri Hartamas, the place seems to gather several fine quality hawkers specializes in Malaysian food and non-local food ranging from mee rebus to chicken chop.
Gambong! on the other hand is one of the many stalls operated among Don Alley’s superabundance and get this, their specialty is none other than the breathtaking Sarawak Kolo Mee, a Sarawakian’s proud. The authenticity is buried under the Kuching Kolo Mee that comes together with a choice of beef, chicken, or prawn. For a little daring experience, opt for the Oxtail Kolo Mee – a little different than the usual yet surpasses every Kolo Mee there is for a twist of a taste. The Sarawak Laksa is no exception with it being one of the best-selling dishes around and not to mention their specialty. In other words, why even mention Sarawak without its famous laksa?
The surrounding does not seem to offer a lot with black and
white interior patching up the stall, bringing in a ‘strictly for business’ vibe
for the crowds around. But once patrons get their hands on Gambong!’s delicacies,
the setting will no longer be relevant and what matters is that the extra steps
taken by Uncle Don should be thanked by the crowds.
