Mr. Cendol is a developing franchise originated
from a small humble roadside stall in Sitiawan, Perak back in 1952. Instead of
being the typical stall in popular shopping malls, this one actually has its
own shop lot, be it in the food court or on its own. Interior wise, the joint
is painted in their signature blue-green theme colour with their tables broadly
spaced and arranged to avoid patrons from feeling too crowded. For a mall
stall, Mr. Cendol can be considered as affordable too!
Patrons love coming here to get their
cendol fix mainly due to the special coconut milk formula and aromatic palm
sugar. The combination of both the coconut milk and palm sugar makes the
dessert really stands out from the rest. The eatery offers quite a variety of
cendol selections including Cendol, Cendol Special and Cendol Pulut. Here, you
will get your own bottle of palm sugar to adjust the level of sweetness based
on your liking. The cendol is also quite fresh and not too soft along with the smooth
and milky shaved ice.
However, if you are in the mood for something heavy, there are also some local delights available on the menu – Rojak, Asam Laksa, and Nasi Lemak Special. If you go for Mee Rojak, you will be served with sliced fried tofu, fried egg, boiled potato, prawn crackers and lots of sliced cucumbers and yellow noodle drenched in peanut sauce. Yummy! The best part of the whole experience? For every purchase, you will get to collect stamps that can be redeemed for a free cendol. For a different kind of cendol experience (No sitting under a tree with dusty cars zooming by to enjoy a bowl of cendol), head over to Mr. Cendol!
