Rojak Pasembur or also known as Rojak Mamak in our local
Malay tongue is a salad-type of dish of Malaysian that consists of cucumber,
octopus, potatoes, beancurd, turnip, bean sprouts, and many other ingredients
that are drenched under a waterfall of sweet and spicy nutty sauce. Originally
the dish stemmed from Penang where it can be gotten at stalls along the famous
Gurney Drive and later the dish has travelled all around West Malaysia of which
fortunately for folks in Klang Valley, Rojak Mamak made its way in here where
it can be gotten at some mamak stall around. The deliciousness of it just
simply cannot be denied with the freshest ingredients packed on a single plate
of assorted vegetables, carbs, and sea food.
Interestingly your plate of rojak can be customized to your liking with arrays of food items to choose from, of which it is mere impossible not to like what you have customized. Whatever mixture that is picked, they will definitely go well together. Rojak Mamak Mee that is situated in Taman Universiti in Petaling Jaya is a famous stall that sells Rojak Mamak but with a little twist added to it – yellow noodles. Since ingredients of Mee Rebus are more or less the same as Rojak Mamak, the two would undoubtedly make a good companion of each other and it is true! Where a plate of yellow noodles are soaked under the nutty sweet and spicy red sauce with bits of potatoes, prawns, octopus and all sorts of ingredients, who would want to say no to that?
