Steaks, or western cuisine in general. What is
it that pops up in that mind of yours when someone, say your friend, mentions
it to you? Is it the hefty price tag, or long waiting times after your order,
or more positively, prime cut beef or, fresh and high quality ingredients?
Well, here in Malaysia at least, western cuisine, for many, is more of a meal
that is not often eaten but do not get the wrong idea, some do it.
Usually, it is eaten in conjunction with
probably say, a birthday celebration, or a wedding anniversary, or a date
between a couple, well in other words, special occasions. Nestled on the
outskirts of the nation’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, or more specifically, Taman
Tun Dr. Ismail, TTDI Meat Point is what one would call a typical steakhouse.
With simple, nothing fancy, tables and chairs, matching floor tiles, matching
wall colour chandeliers, and very important for some, especially with the usual
hot and humid weather, air conditioned interior.
Cosy and simplified ambience is something you
would expect when visiting here and with a spacious interior, no matter how
busy the place gets, there is room for everyone to sit comfortably and walk
around. Being a western cuisine restaurant, good service would be an expectation.
Well, not good but great service is what you would get from the extremely
friendly waiters who would happily assist you should you require anything at
all. Also, high quality ingredients and fresh meat is used in the dishes, so, do
cross that out of your list.
