Yet another Japanese “fast food” concept restaurant to cater the fast-paced modern lifestyle of people in the city. Hokkaido Sushi is located in One Utama, the interior is designed with a wooden and bamboo concept that brings out the Zen vibe that you would expect in a Japanese restaurant. The lighting in the restaurant is dim but soft and if you are opting for more privacy, you can request to be seated at the cubicles. The sushi belt that surrounds the dining tables in the restaurant brings convenience to the diners as they could save time waiting for food to be cooked.
The whole concept of Japanese “fast food” is that diners can just “dine and go”, Hokkaido sushi diners usually go for their sushi. There are more than 50 types of sushi available, although only the popular orders are available on the sushi belt, you can still order via the waiter for the others.
If you are up for some interesting flavors, do browse the house specialty section in the menu. Some of the highly recommended ones are the Oyster Cheese Roll and Mentaiko Spider Roll which are both fusion sushi rolls with unique flavors.
The usual Japanese cuisine such as Udon, Bento and Katsudon is also available on the menu but one of the popular items on the menu would be the Cha Soba. The chilled buckwheat noodles deep in soy sauce is definitely worth a try.
All in all, Hokkaido sushi would be one of the places you can go for a quick lunch after doing your weekend shopping in One Utama.
