Located in a slightly more unfamiliar side of Puchong lies
Kedai Makan Ho Kee, a Chinese restaurant with a number of different stalls in
it. The restaurant has a partly-roofed open shed that allows for great air
circulation and sunlight. Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about feeling
hot as there are ceiling fans that are placed in the roofed areas and that the
restaurant is quite spacious, all of which helps with the circulation of cool
air. This restaurant is more often than not labelled a hidden gem due to it’s
location and it’s less than appealing décor. That said, there are many people
who frequent the restaurant for all the great food to be had here.
Speaking of which, some of the food that can be enjoyed here
includes char kuey teow, pork noodles, tai chow, and much more. However, the
wantan mee stall has regularly been the center of attention for people that
visit this restaurant. This plate of wantan mee has all the quintessential
ingredients you’re looking, and they’re done extremely well; be it the springy
noodles, the rich char siew pieces, and the freshly blanched green vegetables.
Like most servings of wantan mee, a bowl of wantan soup is also served. There
are also a number of sides that can be enjoyed with your plate of wantan mee
such as steamed chicken wings in soy sauce, stewed deep fried chicken wings, boiled
pig intestines, and much more.
So if you’re looking to try out one of the many rare hidden
gems in an ever expanding area like Puchong, then take this opportunity to head
to Kedai Makan Ho Kee.
