She plucks her own pandan leaves, pounds and hand squeezes the juices out of the greens and coconut flesh for santan by herself at 3AM on operating days. Located by the Great River, Lao San is the perfect spot to indulge in a mood-enlightening bowl of refreshing cendol with a view. The homemade cendol here is made au-naturale with lots of love. Flavours are light but pack a punch upon every spoonful. The cafe also serves authentic Hainanese food and the lady owner has  been dubbed to be cheerful and greets every customer with a warm welcome. Needless to say, that reputable feeling that she gives off also transfers onto her cendol which is perhaps why it is delicious.

East & West Rendezvous Cafe gained its well deserved fame from the simple yet authentic cendol (amongst others). That just goes to show how simplicity thrives when it comes down to bona fides and tradition . A yummy bowl incorporates a mountain of finely shaved ice, essential pandan noodles, sago and fresh red beans drenched in sweet-smelling gula melaka and mouth-watering santan. Prices are very reasonable too!

Another Nyonya house, Cottage Spices is the perfect spot for a real taste of Malacca. Patrons particularly love the hot kitchen food here but let's cut to the chase. Right now, all we care about is the cendol. That being said, the cendol here is a breeze to our senses. Although portion size had been criticized by some netizens for being inconsistent (and small), taste is brilliant! Every component is authentic and made from scratch and thus gives you all the flavours that can only be achieved from raw hands.

Clock Tower Cendol, as you might guessed it, is located right next to a clock tower. It is also one of the most famous cendol stalls in Melaka, operating is 1952, which is over 6 decades! That's heck of a long time and certainly, there's a secret to their longevity. As you'll expect, there will always be a line and the only time there isn't any, is when they are closed. The cendol is more liquid compared to others while the sweetness is fairly evident. But in short, it's a nice bowl of cendol to indulge in. 

Loved and recognized by even the Peranakans themselves, Aunty Lee has been serving authentic Baba Nyonya cuisine since 1996. When Uncle and Aunty Lee first started their business, they never imagined that their little restaurant could be this much of a prominence in Malacca. Many have since loved the humble couple's restaurant as the food is hearty, wholesome and genuine. Till today, Aunty Lee is the chef and cooks every dish one by one and heart to heart. The cendol here is like the flawless icing to a Michelin starred cupcake.

Christina Ee Cendol is another really popular place to quench your thirst as well as to cool your internal temperature from the scorching heat of Melaka. First thing you'll notice is the amount of jelly placed on top, followed by the glistening gula melaka, coconut milk and semi-fine shaved ice below. For those who don't enjoy liquid-cendol as much, this would be the perfect choice as the ice is able to hold its shape for prolonged period of time, ensuring that every bite is a cool and icy one.

Home to a multitude of desserts, Justberrys Dessert House is another casual cafe that offers a truly extensive range of dessert. Among all that lies a humble serving of cendol, which is filled quite generously with green wormy jelly, kidney beans, lots of gula melaka as well as coconut and finely shaved ice. Though the cendol does not match up to their range of beautifully crafted desserts, it still does deliver in flavour, and is more than enough to satisfy that craving of yours. The place is also really colourful, which makes it fun to be in. 

For authentic Nyonya cuisine, Nancy's Kitchen is a great option to add into your must-visit list. That being said, cendol here is as authentic as it gets - Nyonya-style. With cleanly shaved ice, tasty gula melaka that does not wreck too much sweetness and fresh ingredients, Nancy's cendol is the perfect finish to a great Peranakan meal. Whether or not you decide to dine here, there is no problem with visiting the restaurant just for some refreshment or dessert because this cendol is a real winner.

Can't decide between ice kacang or cendol? Well, why not both? After all, they are absolutely delightful here at mamak Thamby Abdullah. It's a fairly long name for a humble stall, but quite fortunately, they do serve really good, icy and cold dessert. The cendol of course, is the humbler of the both as it comes with a good serving of jelly, kidney beans, gula melaka, coconut milk and finely shaved ice. It does melt quite quickly and is rather watery from the start, so it's best for those who enjoys drinking cendol. 

The Cendol Kampung Hulu @ Makan Avenue is located along Jalan Kampung Hulu in the Kampung Hulu area, in the Makan Avenue restaurant. The cendol here is radiant, with numerous alternatives to look over. The gauge is as yet the quintessential blend of shaved eyes, gula Melaka syrup, coconut milk, and pandan jam, yet you can add on garnishes. For example, corn just as ocean coconut and frozen yogurt. A cutting edge take on a conventional sweet treat.

Proclaiming themselves to be the undisputed king of cendol, the Raja Cendol Taming Sari is located along Jalan Merdeka in the Bandar Hilir area, just beside the Menara Taming Sari. The cendol here has an overwhelming accentuation on durians, and that is the reason they announce themselves to be above all else. As expected from a pure Straits-born Chinese that obtained his culinary skills from his grandmother, his mouthwatering dishes is simply not to be missed. Apart from the delicious Nyonya dishes, in comparison to other places that serve cendol, you could sample a decent one here too. Moreover, what not to like when you can slurp up a bowl of refreshing cendol that is packed with subtle goodness of gula Melaka in the comfort of a fully air-conditioned restaurant?

Professing to be the most established cendol shop in Malaysia, the Cendol Jam Besar is arranged close to the Clock Tower, along Jalan Gereja in the Bandar Hilir territory of Melaka town. The cendol here sticks near the first, with very little more than the standard gula Melaka, coconut milk, Pandan jam, and shaved ice. On extraordinary events, they do serve Cendol Durian also, so make certain to visit at whatever point durians are in season.

You will enjoy the durian cendol version here even though you don't like to taste durian and worry about the durian scent. It’s much flavourful with a generous amount of gooey durian paste in the middle so you can expect a stronger durian taste in every mouthful.Great presentation of the Cendol. Most importantly, it tastes good too. Gula Melaka is always the main ingredient to make you feel wow. The ice is very soft, the cendol is not too sweet. The owner provides additional melted brown sugar on every table. 

Definitely worth trying this hidden gem. Less crowded than usual tourist spots.Cendol is good with authentic gula melaka,the taste is so pure and ‘kao’ that the experience is almost like drinking melted coconut candy, a concentrated one that is. If you like your cendol with extreme Gula Melaka taste, you will surely love this.If you are not a fan of coconut milk, try the taibak.  The white and pink cendol like strands in an ice cold syrupy water is a lighter option. Their santan is very fragrant and not too overly sweet. Really is a class above the rest.Their pie tee is great too. Lots of finger food e.g. cempedak fritters, banana fritters, kuih bakul with keledek.
