Ahroy Thai Restaurant has been in the business for quite
some time. Under the guidance of Thai food lover, owner Winnie Tan decided to
share her love for Thai cuisine with the public. She used to travel to Thailand
frequently back in the day so that she could satisfy her cravings. With her
knowledge and love, opening a restaurant here would do better for her as well
as benefitting Thai food lovers around the area. In her effort to explore more
about Thai cuisine, the owner has even voluntarily worked at a five star Thai
restaurant just to gain more experience with the food.
Thai and Malaysian cuisine are quite similar to one
another, in terms of ingredients and spices used as well as the kind of materials
that went into it. The usual Thai favourites are made better at Ahroy, separated into
categories; appetisers, house specials, chicken, fish, soup, curry dishes and
many more. Start your meal with the classic Mieng Kam, a platter of savouries eaten
by wrapping it in Thai traditional leaf.
Dishes like Tom Yam comes in either red or
white, or just with chicken or prawns, and the ultimate Green Curry
Chicken with its thick, rich gravy, promises an explosion of flavours like no
other. Pandan Leaf Chicken is another
signature that at most other Thai restaurants would be disappointing but Ahroy
does theirs fragrant and tender, as how it should be.
The foods
here are not overly expensive and not as cheap either, but considering the
quality ingredients used, it is reasonable enough for a dinner out in the city.
Other must try includes the various style of Steamed Fish, Deep Fried Kangkung,
and the Thai Cendol.
