Betty's Midwest Kitchen is probably the
best place to be for any pork lovers out there. First opened its door on 10
October 2009, this eatery specialises in American Midwest cuisine and they apparently
know American food very well since they previously lived in America for quite
some time. Since they are focusing more on the Midwest area, you will not be
having the typical classic American cuisine, but instead you will be splurge with
pot roast, meat loaf, barbecue pork fillet or ribs, pork chops, green bean
casseroles, apple pie, bacon and eggs, devilled eggs, and many more.
Once you are here, it is a must to try
their recommended Classical Meatloaf. The traditional Midwest signature dish uses
pork to produce moist and savoury results and it comes along with mash
potatoes, peas, and onion bliss. The meatloaf itself is very appetising and
juicy alongside its sweet skin glazing which comes from ketchup, brown sugar
and apple cider vinegar. Did we mentioned that the mash potatoes is super
delicious too? It is rich in flavour, and smooth and melt in your mouth.
Another crowd’s favourite is the grilled
beer braised Boston butt that consists of pork shoulder poached in beer for 4
to 6 hours, then sliced and grilled to perfection. Yes, it is called butt but
it is not exactly pork’s butt. It is actually a cut of pork that comes from the
upper part of the shoulder from the front leg. For something cheesy, give the
Jucy Lucy a try. The exquisite dish contains a thick grilled beef and pork patty
with melted cheese inside the patty sandwiched in between two fluffy buns.
If you are looking for decent American Midwest delicacies,
we think Betty's Midwest Kitchen should be your next must visit restaurant.
