Chawan at Citta Mall is the third branch of this locally
owned, local brand. What started as a stall in a food court has grown into a
business scattered around Klang Valley that’s worth being proud of.
In order to
cater to Malaysians love for food, Chawan decided to be
the upscale restaurant that still hold on to traditional values and culture and
portray that through their menu selection. With an all day breakfast menu, to
bigger bites, noodles and small bites, Chawan welcomes all to dine at their
humble but comfortable setting.
The dishes at Chawan consist of all the local favourites
from all across the Peninsular; Nasi Lemak, Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Tomato, Mee Rebus
Tulang, Curry Laksa and many more. Nasi Lemak here comes in either smaller
pre-packed package or the more fulfilling option in a plate with optional side
dishes. One of the more sought after sides to nasi lemak at any establishment is
the Spiced Fried Chicken and Chawan doesn’t disappoint. Chawan’s
Nasi Lemak could also be served with Spicy Turmeric Coconut Milk Gravy of
chicken or beef if you so choose.
Nasi Tomato here is classically served with
Ayam Masak Merah where the portion is more than appreciated as is their cubed
rice with vegetables in light coconut milk, Lontong.
However, the thing about Chawan that is significantly
special is their effort to popularised and provide the city with well-loved
local coffee brews. With over 14 varieties from different states in Malaysia,
from the likes of Hang Tuah, Tanjung Malim, Muar 343, Aik Cheong, and many
more, this is the reason to the brand’s success.
While
service is not exactly consistent, Chawan still proves to be the go to places
for a bite or a quick friendly chit chat as well as somewhat casual business
meetings.
