Gao Ren Guan is a Chinese restaurant that serves cuisines from Gauzhou, one of the ptrovinces of southwest China at Guangdong. It is located opposite IOI Mall in Bandar Puchong Jaya with branches in Subang and Petaling Jaya. Upon entering, you will be greeted with a stretch of wall featuring their mouth-watering specialties. The interior is simple and air-conditioned, providing a comfortable dining experience.
The menu is pork-dominated,
which is to be expected as their main marketing paraphernalia is that of an old
man slicing and cooking pork over a stove. One of their best-selling dishes is
the Yam Pork Belly, which has a fragrant aroma and melts in your mouth. Do also
give their Braised Stuffed Bean Curd a try, as the stuffing is prepared using
their own recipe of stir fried minced meat and chives. The bean curd is then
cooked in broth, which is full of flavour and gives the bean curb it’s juiciness.
The sweetness of the bean curd and the savouriness of the soup compliments each
other perfectly. If you are a health freak, do sample their Braised Mini Bitter
Gourd with Stuffed Preserved Chinese Mustard and Minced Pork. It is slightly
bitter but refreshing, good for ridding the body off toxins.
End your filling meal
with a bowl of classic and soothing Gui Ling Gao. The jelly is smooth in the
mouth and every bite fills your mouth with refreshing coldness. They honey
syrup served alongside works well to balance out the slightly bitter taste.
