Best Chinese Restaurants in Puchong

From the name itself we could somewhat make an assumption that Dynasty Dragon Seafood Restaurant is quite a fancy banquet dining restaurant. Spacious, clean and vibrant are best adjectives to describe this restaurant, and no doubt, why they have been constantly hosting wedding dinners. The kitchen dishes out traditional Chinese cuisine with a contemporary twist, both in terms of flavours and presentation. Aside from the classic Chinese dishes, dim sums also share the spotlight among diners. Meticulously done with pleasant flavour combinations, each and every dim sum boasts its own speciality. Wash it all down with hot and aromatic tea. 

Restaurant 8 Road is another Chinese “Dai-chao” restaurant that requires a little patience when it comes to dining there. Customers will start swarming in from 6pm onwards and it will only take a matter of minutes to have to restaurant completely occupied. Queues will go as short as 20minutes up till 40minutes long depending on the time and day. However, the wait is definitely worth it – especially when it comes to their signatures like Claypot Kangkung and steamed fish. In short, Restaurant 8 Road offers dishes with exceptional flavours and textures that are simply hard to find.

If you're looking for a quiet and affordable place to enjoy dinner with your family, Restoran Popular Food Court is one of the best place to be. Their signature steamed fish head comes in four different flavours - soy sauce, ginger, assam and black bean. The portion is also relatively huge, with plenty of flesh to steal from. Other dishes such as their stir-fried vegetables, ginger and vinegar braised pork, and OUG style Bak Kut Teh is well worth the try as well! Nothing pretentious here, just good food that reels you over and over again. 

Most of the Puchongites would know this place as it is extremely popular among the locals. Located deep within Kampung Baru Puchong, directly opposite from a Chinese primary school (SJKC Han Ming). Do expect a line on weekends, Sundays especially. Serving quite a delicious amount of yong tau foo, both stuffed, fried and served with a bowl of soup. Do not be skimp while assembling your bowl as the price here is pretty affordable. Besides that, they also offer a variety of add-ons such Chee Cheong Fun and Wun Chai Kou (small bowl cake).

Restaurant Chi Ka Yin literally translates to "Restaurant Hakka People" and in all obviousness they serve Hakka-style cuisine. Famous for their overwhelming saltiness and the unique use of ingredients, Restaurant Chi Ka Yin is possibly one of the few Hakka restaurant left that offer authentic Hakka cuisine. Salted vegetables fish, braised duck, pork belly with yam and konnyaku jelly are among the main sellers. Lovely flavours, plenty of options to choose from and absolutely salty (delicious too!). Not forgetting the clean, spacious and brightly-lid atmosphere that encourages large gatherings and functions. 

Restoran Fu Li Lai is a casual place for family and friends around the Puchong neighbourhood. Serving an array of delicious seafood and regular Chinese dishes, Restoran Fu Li Lai is definitely one of the place to visit for dinner with your family in Puchong. Despite seafood predominantly capturing the hearts of many, there are also a number of meaty goodness on the menu such as the Marmite pork ribs. The restaurant is also pretty huge, with two sets of dining area - air-conditioned and outdoors. So bring over your seafood junkies!

Famous for their Curry Fish Head, Restoran Sang Mewah is another homey restaurant in Puchong that offers a decent array of Chinese dishes. However, for those who do not fancy curry, there's many other options to choose from, just on the fish head alone. Moving on, Restoran Sang Mewah also offers several unique dishes such as Smelly Beancurd and braised pork knuckle, which is interesting to say the least. The interior offers a spacious, cozy and air-conditioned dining experience, which is really nice.

If you are in the mood for some home-cooked and comfort Chinese food, then perhaps a visit to Restoran Taste Good might be right. Not only are the prices set at an affordable rate, the quality of food here certainly exceeds that value. Some of the most popular dishes include the Claypot Spare Ribs with Bitter Gourd, Steamed Fish in Rice Wine, Braised Pork Belly and Butter & Pumpkin Crabs. All of their dishes are well-seasoned and cook through. Plated really simply, like what you'll find back at home, Restoran Taste Good is a great substitute for those who are too lazy to cook dinner. 

This restaurant is pretty much a 'hate it or love it' kinda thing. After all, they are known for their bitter gourd soup, which can be awful to many kids and even adults. Having said that, there are many health benefits to this awful green thing, with the most common being able to lower your blood sugar level. However, compared to many other restaurants out there, Restoran Fu Gua Thong's bitter gourd soup is amongst the best. It comes with a handful of sliced bitter gourd, chicken with black bean sauce, pork belly and yam, creating a really rich and savoury flavour. It still is quite bitter though, so there's that.

Tang Shifu is a place you'll want to visit if you are in the mood for some soups. As the name suggests, 'Taang' means soup in Cantonese and 'Shifu' means master or teacher. Hence, you'll know you are in for a soupy treat at Taang Shifu. Having said that, there are more than just watery goodness at Taang Shifu as some of their other dishes too are absolutely delightful. The Cordycep Flower and Japanese Mushroom with Sliced Pork comes in a convenient claypot, packed full of flavour and meatilicious pork slices. For vegetables, you could go for their Hsien Tai with Wolfberry Simmered in Soup, which is both flavourful and fun to eat. 

Like To Eat Seafood Restaurant offers simple Chinese cuisine at an incredibly affordable price. Located in Bandar Puteri, Puchong, it is a pretty bare looking restaurant with very minimal decor. The classic smooth red tablecloth over a round table, surrounded by wooden chairs in a comfortable, air-conditioned room. They excel is a variety of seafood dishes, with the Salt-steamed Crab being one of the best sellers. Additionally, their Claypot Butter Milk Pork Ribs and 'A Piece of Bone' (a name for a pork rib dish) are pretty good too. 

One for one fish. Well, not buy one free one but rather, one fish for one person. That is the Lan Je motto. Having been in the market for quite a long time, Restoran Lan Je has certainly built a reputation for dining such a way. They also offer different degrees of spiciness for your fish, so do pick wisely. Additionally, side dishes and vegetables are available for those who wants something more than just fish. All and all, if you are friends with selfish eaters, or perhaps someone that enjoys to have their own set of meal, then Restoran Lan Je is the perfect place to be. 

Ocean Seafood Restaurant is known for one thing, and that is crab roe. They have positioned themselves as one of the best places to enjoy crab roe, and trust us, there are plenty of them! In addition to that, they are also one of the most affordable seafood restaurants in town, with most of what's available costing merely RM15 per plate. You might be thinking that the portion is small for that price. Though honestly, it's not that huge, but sufficient for 2-3 pax. So if you're in the mood for some affordable seafood meals, do visit Ocean Seafood Restaurant!

If you're looking for a place with a good amount of dishes that feels a lot like home and, Gao Ren Guan restaurant may just be the best spot for you. It is also a fine dining restaurant.

Choy Hi Restaurant is one of Puchong's neighbourhood place to eat. Occupying a humble shop lot at Puchong Jaya, Choy Hi Restaurant is an affordable place with almost no effort on its design but they make up with great flavours. Most of the dishes here are priced at a range of RM8-15, depending on the order size. On occasion, they do offer fresh fishes as well, which were a delight when it’s done simply by steaming. In short, if you don’t take ambience importantly, as you do for food and price, this humble restaurant is the place to be.

Unlike a regular Chinese restaurant, Restoran Teo Chew Moi focuses more on their Teo Chew porridge and a wide selection of dishes to pair with. Sweet, savoury, spicy, fried, steamed, poached, braised are just some of their technique used in preparation of the dishes. Therefore the mildly flavoured porridge rather acts as a perfect canvas to take advantage of all the flavours.
