When one thinks about dessert, it has come to a point that llaollao (the double ‘l’ pronounced in the ‘y’ sound) will be the first choice. Originated from Spain back in 2009, this frozen yoghurt is made in a way that it is more tart than ice cream and is lower in fat due to the use of milk instead of cream. With this being said, llaollao definitely did not need too much time to be well-accepted by the Malaysian culture. It can be easily spotted in malls and amidst cafe battlefields out there and the kiosk is usually painted white with shades of green and the menu stamped onto the walls.
The tiniest serving will be the Petitllao, which is only one swirl of the plain delicious yoghurt. If you want to have a sauce drizzled on top, it is additional RM1.50. Generally, you can choose between 3 sizes: the small, medium or the large tub depending on your preference, and mostly your appetite.
One should definitely try out the Sanum (which brings the meaning of 'healthy'). This cup is definitely worth your money as not only will you get more toppings compared to the large tub, it is also cheaper by RM 1! It is a yoghurt parfait that comprises a total of 3 layers: a base of yoghurt, fresh fruits and layered with some crunches. After that the combination is then completed with another few swirls of the creamy yoghurt. Not forgetting some sauces of your choice to add more flavour!
Below is a list of the llaollao toppings (subject to outlet's availability):
Besides yoghurt, there are also smoothies available to quench your thirst. Blended from fresh fruits together with the creamy goodness of the yoghurt base, you can be sure you will be blessed with a healthy treat!
llaollao is having their 'llaollao Wellnesday' promotion every Wednesday. Guess the combination of 3 fruit emojis and post it on your Facebook wall with the caption 'It's my Wellnesday!'. With each correct emoji, you will be entitled to 11%, 22% or 33% respectively off of your second cup purchased. For more information, do visit their Facebook page.
