D’Tandoor is a north Indian restaurant located in SS15, Subang Jaya. The restaurant can trace it’s
beginnings for more than 2 decades, and have stood the test of time while many
other restaurants come and gone at a rapid pace. Seeing as this is a north
Indian restaurant, an emphasis is placed on dishes that heavily use dairy
products (i.e. milk, cheese, cream), which is in significant contrast to the
food featured in South Indian cuisine.
Some of these north Indian dishes
include palak paneer, butter chicken, chicken kurma, chicken badami pasanda,
mutton rogan josh, gosht sagwala, mutton tikka, kurma zafar shahi, malai kofta,
shabnam seloni, dhal tarkha, and of course, raita. To go along with these
dishes, a number of north Indian favourites can be enjoyed such as a variety of
naan (i.e. butter, garlic, cheese, etc.), parata (known as roti to most of us),
kulcha, briyani rice (which can include chicken, lamb, cheese, cream, tomatoes,
nuts, etc.), pulao rice, and much more. Of course, the name of the restaurant
would suggest that tandoor dishes like tandoori chicken and a number of others
are also available, and this is certainly the case.
The restaurant also serves some
great treats for those with a sweet tooth. Some of these include traditional
Indian desserts such as rasmalai, gulab jamun, kulfi (with flavours like mango
and almond), gajjar halwa, as well as some more familiar items that include a
fresh fruit platter, and ice cream with a fruit cocktail.
In short, D’Tandoor is a must try
place for those looking to enjoy great north Indian food.
