Opened six years ago in 2010, Upstairs café is indeed named Upstairs due to its location on the first floor above Bawang Merah café which is also owned by the same relatives. The interior of the café is simple yet humble with adornments of simple furniture and comfortable sofas for both interior and the balcony of the café along with jazz music and further lighted by a delightful display of delectable desserts in their chiller. One may expect a high price as it is located in Subang Jaya however that is not the case at Upstairs café. Offering a variety of Western food, the café hopes to cater to every palate at affordable prices.
Famously known for their cakes, cupcakes and other delectable desserts, the Red Velvet cake and cupcakes are definitely hard to miss as it is their signature after all. Moist and fluffy, the Red Velvet complements very well with the cream cheese frosting that is whipped up not too sweet. Their brownies are also a crowd pleaser along with their cheesecake, crème brulee, chocolate cake and pancakes. If these are not enough to curb your sweet tooth cravings then we do not know! If sugary sweet is not your forte, there is a list of savoury pastries to choose from such as the Shepherd’s pie, quiches and other pies.
Aside these decadent desserts, go for their signature big breakfast which consists of a load of your choice of eggs, sausage, ham, hashbrown, salad, sautéed mushrooms, red beans and toasted bread will surely fuel up your day. Other signatures are the risotto, lasagna, pastas and much more.
To complement your meal or dessert further, their coffee, tea and other beverage such as iced chocolate, frappes are crowd's favourites.
