Upstairs CafeCertified
halalEstablished back in 2010, Upstairs Café is located opposite of the Subang Jaya Medical Centre Hospital at SS12. It is above Pizzeria Bella Italia and hence, that’s how the name is so relevant to its exact location. Once entered, it gives a cosy and laid back ambience although it tends to get crowded sometimes. Their Red Velvet comes in the form of cupcakes and also cakes. Moist, sweet and too much of the cream cheese frosting, it can be a godly tea time treat.More infoUpstairs Cafe View restaurant

Whisk Espresso Bar & Bake
This tiny bakery and coffee shop is located in the Empire Shopping Gallery, nearby Subang Parade Shopping Mall at SS16. Although it is a small place, the interior and decoration made up for it. Claimed to be artificial in colouring, their Red Velvet cake is very sweet and suitable for sugar connoisseurs’. Their cream cheese frosting is also a tad too sweet but if you intend to try this cake of theirs, be sure to order a beverage to mellow down your taste buds after that.More infoWhisk Espresso Bar + Bake Shop View restaurant

Souka Bake Shop @ Subang
Souka's cake recipes are hand down from generation to generation, which explains its unique drive to bake amazing cakes for people to enjoy. It's red velvet cake is refreshingly sweet and yet not too sweet that it lingers in the mouth for too long. Soft to the touch and yet, it does not crumbles easily. Simple and tasty, it is what red velvet cakes are all about.More infoSouka Bake Shop @ Subang View restaurant

Coffea Coffee
Originally hailing from South Korea, Coffea Coffee has been sprouting its multi-award established branches all over the Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley region. With seven outlets in total so far, Coffea Coffee has been remarkably making its name to coffee and tea lovers alike in only 2 years. From their famous peanut butter latte and orange chocolate latte to organic teas such as the chamomile medley and mate lemon grass, these beverages will always go well with desserts. One of their best is the Red Velvet cake. The cake is dense and the cream cheese frosting is creamier and milkier than usual Red Velvet cakes out there.More infoCoffea Coffee @ SS15 View restaurant

Coffee Cottage Cat Cafe
A feline, coffee and cake lover? Look no further because the Coffee Cottage Cat Café offers them all! Maybe after hitting the gym (Blitz Gym is located before the café), it’s time to de-stress and get some sugar at the coffee shop above it. Opened in the early of 2014, this café is slowly gaining popularity over its quality beverages and adorable cats! There is a special room just for the cats inside of the café counter and you’ve got to sanitize your hands before going in with your beverage. Their Red Velvet cake is a bit over-chilled and dry, but the cream cheese frosting is just nice for those who prefer their desserts not too sweet.More infoKopicat Cafe View restaurant

Grafa CafeCertified
halalFor those who have been to this café back when it first opened for business, their menu has since been revamped and their outlet has also been renovated and redecorated – with even more wood, sporty equipment and bikes! Grafa Café is special because it is the first café to combined sporty elements and equipment at the side of their outlet. Their cakes are not really their expertise as they do not bake them on their own. Fairly new to the f&b scene, their Red Velvet is mediocre. Texture of the cake is a bit dry and the freshness of the frosting’s rather inadequate.More infoGrafa View restaurant

The Carpenter’s Daughter
The Carpenters Daughter is a family business that believes in using whole homemade organic ingredients in their cooking and bakery. Located at Taipan USJ at the same row with a pet shop and 7-Eleven, the exterior of the café is made out of wood and all crafted and hand-made by the owner’s father. With a touch of home, The Carpenter’s Daughter certainly does not disappoint in its exterior and interior decoration. Their Red Velvet cake is also made out of organic ingredients; its beetroot batter is light and moist to the mouth! Its cream cheese frosting is also just a thin but rich layer of goodness. Those who opt for a healthier alternative can certainly give The Carpenter’s Daughter a go!More infoThe Carpenter’s Daughter View restaurant

Pastryville
Owned by Pastryville Holdings Sdn. Bhd., the Subang Jaya outlet is their third and latest addition to the company. Pastryville looks like a regular bakery store with a huge variety of cakes, pastries and buns. Although their Red Velvet cake looks ordinary, it is to be adorned by cheese cake fans due to its texture of the cream cheese frosting. Cheese and sweet on the frosting and moistness of the cake, it’s worth a try.More infoPastryville @ Subang Jaya View restaurant

Garage 51
Ventured by the guys behind CoffeeSociété, Garage 51 is inspired by brunch places from Melbourne, Australia. Like its name, it does look like a garage, a huge one! Easy to spot with lots of graffiti on its long building walls at the side and a striking vintage Beetle on the outside of the window of the café, Garage 51 is a café regulated with hipster patrons and students as Sunway University College is just a walking distance from it. The Red Velvet cake is a rather small portion but decent for its pricing. Thin on the frosting and not too sweet, it’s best suited with their brunch menu and coffees or teas.More infoGarage 51 View restaurant
