Nasi Ulam (ulam rice) is a steamed rice
dish diverse with various shredded herbs including wild pepper leaf, cashew
leaf shoots, onions, lemon basil, vegetables, spices and other various side
dishes. Kerisik and other spices are added for an extra nutty flavour. At
times, shredded fried fish is mixed in as well. The dish is a feature of Malay
cuisine where it can be commonly found in Malaysia. Particularly one of the

Respectively one of the better Nasi Ulam around that’ll keep your tummies satisfied with just a plate full. The dish boasts a colourful spunky character matching its diverse flavours when mixed. Accompanied with a side of a quarter piece of chicken with perchik sauce smothered entirely, crisp fish crackers, salted egg, herbs and ulam leaves chopped into tiny pieces. Topped with kerisik on the steamed rice you’ll be glad to know that it’s one that’ll definitely be a healthy hearty meal to go. Definitely, a meal to appreciate and please the East.

Nothing better than a plate of good ol’ Nasi Ulam that’s available at The Yogitree. A definite blast from the past with this one. You’ll get diverse flavours of the fresh earthy flavours from the herbs and mixed vegetables, a taste of baked organic chicken smothered in perchik sauce, fish crackers and a small saucer of a special spicy tangy sauce to give that extra kick to this dish. Mix sure to stir well with the the pile of fresh ulam and steamed organic jasmine brown rice together.
