Tommy Le Baker
France is no stranger to good ol’ traditional baked goods. Thankfully, there is no need to travel halfway around the globe as Tommy Le Baker offers the closest experience you can get to indulge in authentic French-style breads. A little history about the owner, Tommy: before he set up his own bakery in Malaysia, he used to live in France for over a decade. One can imagine the vast experience he gained perfecting the art of bread-making over the years. If you happen to stop by at his bakery, we highly recommend his sourdough bread. In fact, all his baked creations ranging from crusty baguettes and croissants to sandwiches as well as pastries are just as divine, thanks to the owner’s pledge on using 100% natural ingredients.More infoTommy Le Baker View restaurant

Nestled within the serene neighbourhood of Taman Desa, RT Pastry House is a popular bakery shop that has been around for more than 10 years. If you are a first-timer to the shop, don’t be fooled by the modest facade. Beyond this veil lies a place for impressive baked goods and pastries with a harmonious mix of Japanese and Taiwanese styles. As a matter of fact, their breads and buns are baked fresh daily with no added preservatives, in line with their motto, “Just Baked”. If cakes are your thing, then be sure to try out their amazing selection of green tea cakes. You can’t go wrong their Green Tea Swiss Roll – a best seller, if ever you are perplexed by the multitude of choices. The cake itself is tantalisingly fluffy, while the creamy filling is both aromatic and flavoursome. This one certainly deserves a spot among the best tasting Swiss rolls in the Klang Valley. And while the month of October is coming, their simple-but-delicious moon cakes will send you over the moon with a myriad of flavours to try!More infoRT Pastry House View restaurant

Croissant Delicatessen
Tired of the plain old croissant? Here at Croissant Delicatessen, a fine selection of croissant sandwiches are available such as Supreme Egg Mayo, Ocean Tuna, and Grilled German Bratwurst. If savoury doesn’t sit too well on your taste buds, then perhaps you could opt for their signature Mixed Berries Chantilly – a croissant consisting of chopped mixed berries topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie
A unique hybrid of French-style bakery and restaurant housed within a majestic-looking bungalow, Levain is well-known for its fresh breads and pastries, baked in a traditional stone oven, imparting a unique flavour and texture. If you ever complain about hard-to-chew breads, rest assured; their baked goods are distinctively soft and cushy. Whole cakes and slices are sold here too. The Bread Shop
This bakery cum cafe is definitely a favourite neighbourhood joint with its irresistible scent of freshly baked bread. Mix-and-match to create your very own high tea with their wide variety of pastries available. Do try out their Banana Butterscotch Danish; with its fresh and sweet banana filling in a crispy danish pastry. You may also give its cousin, the Peach Danish, a try, too. With its juicy and plump succulent peaches in a pastry shell, it is absolutely delectable. For a savoury dish, you could opt for corned beef and cheese puff. Well portioned and seasoned beef with gooey cheese in a puff - sinfully good! You could also try their tomato and basil sauce with their baguette. The sauce might be a tad watery at first sight, but fret not as it somehow complements and softens the baguette. You could end your high tea on a chocolate-y note with their chocolate bun. A soft bun stuffed with generous amounts of chocolate cream, it leaves you wanting more. Utterly unmissable.

Komugi
Specialising in handmade Japanese breads and pastries, Komugi is one of the most reputable bakeries known for using fresh ingredients. You’ll be spoilt with plenty of options presented on the well-coordinated display counters. For a “cheesy” affair, we recommend their signature Hanjuku Cheesecake. It may look like a morsel of ordinary sponge cake but the taste is out of this world. Made from premium cream cheese, the cake strikes a wonderful balance of sweet and savoury with every bite. More cheese-based delights are available such as the Tofu Cheesecake, Kronut Cream Cheese (think of a cross between a croissant and a donut) and Fuwa-Fuwa Nama Cheese Bun. Of course, cheese isn’t the only thing to look out for. Their cute-looking macaroons are as scrumptious as they look pretty, and let’s not forget their Baum selection (a ring-like cake) such as the Mini Baum, with flavours ranging from Original, Chocolate or Matcha.More infoKomugi Bakery @ Mid Valley Megamall View restaurant

Bisou Bake Shop
Bisou is famous for its assortment of delectably delightful cupcakes. Not only are their cupcakes lovingly crafted; they also come adorned with cheeky names such as “Dark Secret” (chocolate cupcake covered with chocolate frosting), “Zest You Up” (vanilla cupcake with orange frosting) and “Bling Bling” (vanilla cupcake with Nutella). Pretty-looking cupcakes aside, they taste just as good as their irresistibly catchy names suggest. An equally tempting assortment of cakes are also available, with the psychedelic Rainbow Cake a recommended choice.More infoBisou Bake Shop View restaurant

Tedboy Bakery
The word “au naturel” is best described in the manner which Tedboy Bakery offers their wholesome baked goods: strictly free from preservatives. Choices are aplenty when it comes to assorted breads including sandwiches (Mango Apple Chicken Sandwich), buns (go for the delicious mini version of the red bean bun and sausage cheese bun) and loaves (Cranberry Apricot Loaf is a winner in this category). Tedboy Bakery is also worthy of being a dining place for that hearty breakfast or casual lunch, thanks to its cosy ambience contained within a minimalist setting. Finally, do try to make room for must-have desserts including the densely packed Moist Carrot Cake and of course, the superbly robust Awfully Chocolate Cake.More infoTedboy Bakery @ Jalan Telawi View restaurant
