Dolly Dim Sum
Say goodbye to the scorching heat and clinking trays, as you step into a comfortable and modern eatery that serves you as good or even better Dim Sum. Dolly Dim Sum gives you a comfortable, visually pleasing and safe haven from the bustling city. Food-wise, they use only the freshest ingredients possible, down to the sauce that accompanies the dumplings. Your typical Siu Mai (Chicken and Prawn Dumpling), Har Gao (Prawn Dumpling), and Salad Prawn here have never tasted so refined. Washing it all down with tea is pretty common, but here one can expect Oriental-inspired cocktails! How cool is that?

Marco Polo Restaurant
Marco Polo has been home to many dim sum lovers in the past. Although over-shadowed by recent and more modern dim sum competitors, Marco Polo has still yet to give up, garnering a loyal following of their own. Marco Polo is also one of the few restaurants that serve Dim Sum buffet for lunch. Apart from that, ala carte menu is also available for lunch and dinner. Last but not least, most of what they serve were pretty fresh and only some had minor drawbacks. Char siew bao and stewed chicken feet work wonderfully with the dim sums.

Secret Loc
The dim sum at Secret Loc Cafe covers a wide range of options. From the steamed options, to the fried items; from main course items, to dessert, there’s a lot to choose from. The standouts in this extensive list have to be the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, the creamy custard bun and the fried radish cake. The Shanghai Xiao Long Bao has that burst of flavourful soup that you look for in this particular dim sum. The skin holds it all in very well without you having to worry about the soup spilling out of the seal. The fried radish cake is cooked very well, resulting in a crispy exterior with a soft interior that’s a pleasure to bite into. As for the creamy custard bun, the skin is just thick enough to hold the juicy, creamy filling in the centre, but easy enough to bite into to enjoy the filling inside that has a great consistency.

Kedai Kopi Mee Bon
Kedai Kopi Mee Bon has been a dim sum place for many of the locals for years. Illiterate in English with no menu and pricing, most of what they do might seem pretty ambiguous. Waiters will come out with a tray filled with different types of dishes, walking around aimlessly, and awaiting customer’s order. Hence, it is crucial that you notify them by force (verbal force). In general, the food was pretty good with a reasonable portion, the only thing lacking was perhaps the service. On a side note, their chicken wing cooked in a paper bag is highly recommended too.

One may have to splurge a little more here but considering the charming atmosphere and dim sums that scream with quality and varieties, it's surely worth it. Choices of dishes in The Han Room may be slightly different as compared to others as they offer more personalised dishes. You’ll find weird dishes like Baked Seafood in Crabshell, Roasted Pigeon, Baked Scallop, Braised Lobster Pumpkin Soup and many more. Fred not, most of which were pretty good.

Xin Cuisine @ Concorde Hotel
Xin Cuisine has been around for quite some time. Previously known as Dragon Court Chinese Restaurant, it is now revamped with a newer design and decent menu choices. One of the key characteristics of the place includes the beautifully crafted dragon pillars within the restaurant and the entrance doors. Both which were pretty eye-catching and memorable. Food wise, you can assure that the quality and taste justifies the price. Though it may be slightly pricey, with the most expensive being RM18 per serving – it definitely was worth the price

The Ming Room
The Ming Room is a full-fledged Chinese restaurant that serves Dim Sum for breakfast and ala carte for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What makes their dim sum a big hit is they are never skimp in terms of filling and each piece is given close scrutiny by the chefs. Interiorly, it’s pretty oriental with tables and chairs ranged not far from one another. It’s pretty difficult to manoeuvre in such a place. However, the staffs were friendly enough to attend to your calls and order, so no worries about going around looking for food – although there are live chefs cooking in front of everyone.
