Canele (with an accented é) is a small French pastry flavoured with vanilla. It has a soft and tender custard centre with a dark, thick caramelized crust. It is believed that caneles have their origin at Couvent des Annonciades, Bordeaux in either the 15th or the 18th century. In the Klang Valley from PJ to KL to Klang and even Rawang and Putrajaya or Cyberjaya, there are just a few places that serve it. Caneles have proven to be a hit among dessert aficionados in the Klang Valley, especially since 2020. Here's a list of places that serve it.

Burrow
Burrow opened its doors in January 2021 but the popularity of their caneles has rocketed them to being the go to place to get a fix of this delicacy. Their dedication to the process of making their caneles goes down to even the moulds that they use to make it. The moulds are imported from Bordeaux, France and they maintain the traditional French recipe of using bees wax to line the mould rather than butter!
