Tabletalk Restaurant
TableTalk provides a more modernized environment compared to the rest of the cafes we look at here. The orange chairs and round tabletops (with flowers on top) make it a comfortable place to hang around and chat with friends. Even more so considering the late closing hours! The French toast is not available throughout the day though, and will only be available until 5 p.m. French toast cut into cubes and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and punctuated with warm chocolate sauce. VCR
VCR's take on the french toast is definitely a step above the rest, with its luxurious choice of ingredients and decor. The toast is done perfectly, with enough egg and butter to feed a family of four in Africa, paired with berries compote, mocha sauce, a scoop of espresso ice cream, biscuit 'sand' and pumpkin seed. Just from the ingredients itself you'll know that it will taste absolutely amazing. A good balance of flavour, with the richness from the toast, sweetness from the ice cream, acidity from the compote and a slight bitter after-taste from the pumpkin seeds. Not forgetting the play of textures as well. Beautiful!

This week’s RecommendationNooks by Baker Dave
Nooks by Baker Dave is one of the latest additions to the cafe world, especially in Hartamas. Their interior features a contemporary and edgy design along with fusion cuisines to suit the ambiance. The French Toast too was pretty unique. Coated nicely with cereal flakes and served with blueberries and strawberry compote. Simple, elegant and absolutely delicious!More infoNooks by Baker Dave View restaurant

S. Wine
The nice play on words for this Brunch outlet hints on what it serves. S. Wine, together, reads swine, meaning pig or well, ‘non-halal’. The eatery is decorated with pork décor and a drool-worthy aroma of sweet, sweet bacon. The French Toast with Grilled Bananas only sound healthy and will convince yourself that you’re keeping with your diet. However, this deliciously sinful dish is served with a combination of peanut butter and egg French toast doused with maple syrup and wrapped around a caramelize banana. To top it off, are several slices of crispy applewood smoked bacon that will no doubt leave you craving for seconds.More infoS. Wine View restaurant

Yeast Boulangerie
The interior of Yeast Bistronomy is filled with yeast products (that’s bread) that fill the café with a delicious baked pastry smell. This high dining eatery serves food prepared in an open kitchen so you may view the whole process. A good French toast starts with the best bread, which Yeast bakes itself. The slightly sweet fresh soft French toast is served with caramelized apples. It makes for a simple and healthy brunch.More infoYeast Boulangerie View restaurant

Hit & Mrs
The quiet and comfortable ambience offered by Hit and Mrs is enough to make diners come here just to relax. However, food lovers will rejoice to know that it comes with the added advantage reasonably priced good food. The Pana French toast, Banana and Chantilly Cream is served at RM25 serves thick flully panettone (sweet bread loaf) dipped in egg and toasted, with banana and slathered with caramel and cream. It looks like a piece of modern art in it’s plate, almost too elegant to eat.More infoHit & Mrs View restaurant

The Red Beanbag
The interior of The Red Beanbag transports you to Australia, with the simple décor and a small opening where you can spy the chefs at work. There aren’t any bean bags though, so don’t be too excited about that. The quirkily named food items consist of breakfast food all day long. The classic French toast is served with almonds, seasonal fruits and maple syrup. The delicious toast is soft and served perfectly. However, the small (one piece bread) serving will no doubt leave you hungry for more.More infoThe Red Beanbag View restaurant

Podgy & The Banker
Podgy & The Banker do not suffer from lack of space, as illustrated by the comfortably spaced seats. Large windows lets streams of sunlight into the café, leaving it brightly lit and comforting. Chocolate lovers will swoon at it’s take on the classic French toast. It’s sweet serving of Nutella & banana French Toast will blow you away with the reasonable price of RM10. The soft served French toast is smeared with a good helping of Nutella and topped with several slices of banana, something you could try and replicate at home yourselves (but don’t tell them we told you this!)!More info- Closed Now

Breadfruits
Bread and fruits sounds like a lovely and healthy combination that also yummy enough to convince even the unhealthiest of us to drop by and have a look. It serves, you guessed it, fruit juices, fresh fruits, salads and good breakfast and lunch food that is of course, inclusive of a good French toast. The Roasted Banana Bacon French Toast with Passion Wild Honey is priced at RM18.80 and looks, frankly, not very appetizing. Your opinion is bound to change following the first taste of this concoction. The cinnamon dusted caramelized banana, served with honey and passion fruit contrasts beautifully with the French toast and smoky bacon.More infoBreadFruits View restaurant

Feeka Coffee Roasters
Feeka Coffee Roasters’s interior is designed charmingly, with the whitewashed walls and the rattan chairs. The cozy café serves it’s own house blend of coffee so the drinks are a must try! The Brioche French Toast is served with spiced pineapple and Chantilly cream, a different take of the regular caramel smeared toast with apple. You will either love it to bits, or not care for it. The Owls Cafe
For those of you who though there would be real living owls in Owls Cafe, you’ll be madly disappointed. However, they do have plenty of owl figurines and design to compensate that part of the sector. Beautifully designed in many ways and the attention to detail was truly remarkable. Aside from design their cafe, the dishes itself too were beautifully plated and decorated. Unlike the standard french toast which normally looks extremely boring, Owls Cafe’s version was spiced up a little. With additional ice cream, cream, pomegranate and oranges. Packed with flavour, texture and of course, it looks amazing!More infoThe Owls Cafe View restaurant
