Paya Serai Restaurant
The thing about the high tea served here at Paya Serai is that it’s a blend of Malaysian and Western dishes, which totally gives a whole new dimension to the term “high tea”. Located in Hilton PJ, this restaurant has been around for a number of years and has garnered a loyal following amongst expats and locals alike. Why is this? Well, for one thing, the service is very fast and prices are reasonable for such a high-end location. Choices of dishes are also aplenty and the choices of beverage seem like they go by in a never-ending stream of rainbow colours. Well, what else can the FoodAdvisor team say? First class restaurant, first class service, first class food.

Swez BrasserieCertified
halalAnother hotel restaurant, another award winning restaurant. Swez Brasserie has been voted before as the Top 10 Best All Day Dining Restaurant by Hospitality Asia, which goes to show how magnificent this restaurant is in terms of food, service and hospitality. The name may sound German, but fret not, they serve all kinds of food including (gulp!) satay for hi-tea. The meat was super soft and thoroughly marinated. The best part of the restaurant is they have an open kitchen, so the customers can see how the cooks prepare their food. Of course, being an international buffet, they also serve Western food such as mussels and pie. Come on weekends for your high tea and dine like a king!

CinnamonCertified
halalCinnamon Coffee House has been branded “the best buffet in town” by some eager friends of my parents and there is probably some truth in that. A good high tea needs a blend of light and moderately heavy meal. They surely serve a great high tea fiesta. The place is super dreamy, with hanging circular glass balls from the ceiling and dainty little cakes served on plates. Some bite-sized appetisers are laid out in a very creative manner, singly on spoons and placed through a glass stand. My favourite was the smoked salmon topped with capers. They even have plenty of drinks to cater to your tummy’s content.

The Royale Chulan
Peace and tranquillity do not come cheap, but that isn't to say it's totally unavailable. Entering The Royale Chulan in Damansara certainly does bring in a level of peace that is rare. Not because of how the place is, but rather, the crowd and service as a whole. If you're looking for something of that sort, where whispering is more common, The Royale Chulan is definitely the place to be. The high-tea set here is pretty affordable, while the selections of quiche, scones, cakes and sandwiches are nothing but delightful. If you’re all about bread and pastries, check out the Bakery Shop.

Utara Coffee HouseCertified
halalUtara Coffee House is the lobby restaurant of Armada Hotel PJ and though it may not be the most exclusive nor luxurious, it is still a pretty decent place for high-tea. Why you’re asking? Prices are incredibly reasonable, and their selection of pastries and cakes are pretty good as well. The soothing and calming ambience works as a natural fit for business discussion, dating or spending some quality time with your family. All in all, if you’re in the mood for something light and easy, do consider Utara Coffee House.

Rekindle serves a variety of cakes. Their cakes are so rich and smooth, not too sweet. Just a nice taste. Very impressed. Their desserts are a good enough reason to come and enjoy the cakes there. Try the salted caramel whiskey cake and Bailey's chocolate cake. Tastes like an absolute dream and make you keep returning!
