Housed in Gurney Plaza, Winter Warmer Coffee & Tea House has been reeling diners in with a layout reminiscing a vintage theme and bears classic Victorian furniture and cutleries. Despite the name, they have predominantly built their fame around teas. For a typical traditional afternoon tea, they offer dainty little mini fruit pies, sandwiches, yoghurt bites and chicken pie, suitable for two pax. Each set comes with two pots of black or green tea. The place itself really is a mansion - a restored colonial building with trendsetting rooms, cellar and den, which clearly epitomes fine dining. Once you get your English call for the sumptuous high tea set, you’re in for a great time. Topped on the flat wooden block are mouth-watering rows of fluffy croissants, tomato buns, strawberry tarts, scones and cakes. One can never deny that lots of love and attention are given to each and every item offered. Pretty to look at and delicious to devour! They carry mains, sharing platters, soup and sides. Your welcoming reward would be the spectacular setting which is tucked amidst lush greenery and bird’s eye view of the beautiful island. So, photography enthusiasts, you have a field day! No visit here is deemed complete without their afternoon tea, which is meant to be shared between two individuals. The three-tier meal comprise fresh fruits, sandwiches, canape, fruits cakes and the most revered, English scones, accompanied by homemade strawberry preserve and cream by the side. Palm Court (originally named 1885 after the year the hotel was established) offers afternoon tea sets and colonial fine dining meals in classical yet contemporary ambience. The 80's setting resonates pretty well with your high tea session, along with the starched linens, candlelit tables and attentive service from the staffs. On par with the atmosphere, their traditional afternoon tea is nothing but amazing. Choices wedged on the tiers are certainly worth every penny, especially their sandwiches and scones. The scones work pretty well with the fresh fruits. Not forgetting the teas that absolutely complement your bites.

Who said high tea is supposed to be all high class and located in hotels? Well, Teels Heritage Café isn't located in a hotel. It is located at Jalan Burma where people would pass by without paying much attention. Yet, you can’t fail to notice it by its appearance. They prepared their food with a lot of effort, just to make you smile as you have your meal and enjoy your moments. 

Farquhar Mansion is more on the pricier side but the posh ambience as well as the perfect golden cutleries are one we deemed worth it. Their afternoon tea is all about dining lavishly with sumptuous bites, along with a quality selection of teas. Adequately portioned, the bottom tier comprises savouries, assorted mini bread and pastries fill up the middle segment and the top tier is finish with sweet delights that are pretty gorgeous too. Another factor that has caught the hearts of many is the attentive and excellent service. You’ll sure want to come back over and over again looking on all account.

Averie Hous offers high tea experience with gorgeous décor that is definitely Instagram-worthy! You will be able to enjoy the nature that surrounds the location while you’re enjoying your high-tea. There are sweet and savoury choices on the menu to fit everyone’s taste. Some of the sweet choices provided are such as durian puff, cempedak macaron and nutmeg mousse cake. As for some of the savoury options are such as tomyam panna cotta, peanut cracker with sambal mayo and chicken curry burger. With its reasonable price at RM130 per set, the high-tea is certainly worth trying!

When you walk into this place, the restaurant is decorated with books hanging on the ceiling, which will make you feel as if you’re entering Hogwarts. If that’s not enticing enough, the plating of the high-tea is inspired by the Quidditch game in Harry Potter movies. Some of the options on their high-tea menu are scones, macarons, lemon meringues, cheesecake and chocolate mousse. For RM 48 per head, it is one of the places that offers high-tea at an affordable price.

Located in Iconic hotel, this spot in Penang has an Instagram worthy aesthetic, from the interior to the food they serve. The choice of tea is available in four options which are Rose Bud, Lavender, Chamomile or Earl Grey.
