Crispy, crunchy, moist and chewy. These are some of the traits that we love about our pisang goreng. Believe it or not, a good pisang goreng can come in several forms. The most common of course, is done by those roadside-stalls. They're cheap, convenient and delicious. Another of course, can be found in some restaurant, known as Banana Fritters. With that in mind, here is a list of the best pisang goreng in KL.

Brickfields Pisang Goreng Stall
Located in the midst of the bustling Little India of KL; Mr Chiam, the owner, and his son cooks up fried banana fritters in a tiny mobile stall daily. What makes their banana fritters so deliciously addictive is the freshness of the bananas. You'd think freshness doesnt have anything to do with all that deep-fried goodness but trust us when we say it's good. Their bananas are usually fully ripe and peeled, battered and fried right on the spot upon order, hence guaranteeing hot, golden brown banana fritters in your hands.

Pisang Goreng @ OUG
If you are around KL but aren't looking for a long queue, you can always opt for the one in Taman OUG. You would see a pair of old couple (grandma and grandpa) frying bananas early in the brink of morning. Of course, the stall here caters more for the neighborhood aunties and uncles, and the banana fritters often taste more like home. The humble bicycle food cart is located beside Double Nine coffee shop. Besides banana fritters, you can also expect to find kuih bakul, banana ball, sweet potato and yam. We know many customers who're actually more than happy to drive all the way to OUG just to savor their delicious pisang goreng.

Imbi Fried Gold Cake
You can find this bright yellow stall in Mei Sin Kopitiam, where they are famously known for both kuih bakul and fried fritters. Many of their items are fried on a huge wok on the spot. The banana fritters here are a little different but still very much lovable. If you're the kind who loves cakey, melting goods then this might be the choice for you. The freshly-fried goreng pisang is so crisp on the outside yet meltingly soft on the inside.

Banana Fingers
Banana Fingers may seem like a generic name when it comes to Pisang Goreng, but that is exactly what they excel in - pisang goreng. The humble store also offers a variety of other fried tidbits such as cucur udang, cekodok and ubi ketuk as well.

Kopi XOXO & The Gorpis
Believe it not, Kopi XOXO & The Gorpis initially started by having their pisang goreng sold in a stall by the roadside. Their cheese topping has become such a hit that they've actually expanded into what you'll see here. Service is gonna be pretty slow so patience is highly recommended. Their pisang goreng comes in several variants - most commonly with cheese. Whichever you order, you'll be sure to enjoy it!

Opium KL
Opium may be the last place that anyone might look for a serving of pisang goreng. Located in Changkat Bukit Bintang, Opium's version of the pisang goreng is definitely a little more extravagant. Known as the Cheesy Banana Fritters, it is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream along with a handful of shredded cheddar. The fritters itself is done with a light and crisp batter, making sure that the dessert isn't very heavy. After all, there is quite a generous amount of cheese.
